Participants will learn about pull signals. Kanban is a Japanese word that means “sign or signal” and is used interchangeably to denote any visual system for signaling production activity. This course includes instruction in design and application of the pull system method throughout the supply chain.
During the workshop the students will apply what they are learning to a particular material, component or family of components in their company. They will design and set up a functioning pull system that will become a template for future conversion of other material and supply systems.
This workshop is designed to give participants the knowledge they need to apply the Lean technique of using pull signals to replenish materials and initiate production actions.
- The workshop is designed for up to 12 people.
- The workshop is 2 full days for a total of 16 hours.
- Participants should have completed a basic training course in Lean Manufacturing principles such as Lean 101 or equivalent.
