Standard work is one of the basic building blocks of a Lean Transformation, but many people will not realize the potential benefits without a strong, cogent training method. Under the guidance of a seasoned facilitator, the participants will learn the Job Instruction four- step method as developed in the Training Within Industry methodology.
Also covered are form, format, job breakdown and how to prepare for the training session. The structured approach we teach will yield consistent results, which is critical in reducing variation in the correct way to apply standard work.
This workshop is designed to teach front-line managers, supervisors and team leaders how to use the Training Within Industry methods to effectively impart the skills needed to perform work.
Once the steps of the Job Instruction method have been covered thoroughly, the students are coached through a hands-on application of the four steps in their own train-the-trainer portion of the workshop.
- The workshop is designed for up to 12 people.
- The workshop is 2 full days for a total of 16 hours.
- Participants should have completed a basic training course in Lean Manufacturing principles such as Lean 101 or equivalent.
